Three Star Hotel
Project covered key role definitions for departmental teams prior to development of operational marketing plan. Significant outcomes led to sales improvement and optimised staffing enabling owner to sell hotel for a substantial sum.
CAD Dealership
An integrated planning and implementation assignment involving the development of a strategic and operational marketing plan and detailed marketing action plan. Recruited and directed in house lead generation process form existing customers and provided external lead generation which is ongoing. Developed company newsletter, a range of direct mail marketing materials and prepared company for attendance at ICAT. Company awarded CAD dealership of the year and has added £200,000 to annual sales since the start of the programme.
Dental Practise
A modern, well equipped dental practice with seven associate dental surgeons and ancillary support teams. In transition from NHS treatment to private treatment. Business development workshops involved all staff in the creation of marketing action plans. Combination of advertising, direct marketing to businesses, associations and residents used to create sales opportunities. In house work included measurement of marketing activity, improved communications and sales conversion at reception and in the surgeries. Recruited and directed part time marketing assistant to provide ongoing implementation support. Practise is now almost all private.
Chartered Accountancy Practice
A five partner practice with 40 support staff. Developed an operational marketing plan to support strategy and business objectives and worked with existing staff to operate direct marketing programmes for specific sectors. Designed and implemented customer attitude audit which provided guidance for development and improvement of services. Prepared and implemented strategy for developing business with existing clients including a contact management database. Successful programme which, in particular, brought new business to departments of the firm which had excess capacity.
Bakery with retail outlets
A 200 year old family firm consisting of a central bakery and three retail outlets. The project brief was to focus on one of the retail shops has a
cafÈ. Measurement of footfall and average sale value took place over a six week period to provide benchmarks for improvement. The programme used signs, leaflets and transport advertising together with promotional offers to attract new customers to the shop. Staff were trained to up sell and cross sell to increase average value of a sale. A system was put in place to gather names and addresses of customers to create a loyalty scheme which was subsequently implemented. The objectives of the programme were achieved in terms of increased number of customers and increased value of sale.
Royal School for the Deaf
This organisation has developed a range of videos to help and entertain deaf people and relatives of deaf people. They were able to have two secondees from large companies to work with them on the implementation of a marketing plan, the development of which formed the terms of reference for this project. Through several workshop sessions with key managers (deaf and hearing) I guided the development of an operational marketing plan and action plan to help RSD focus on key markets and channels.
Fume & Dust Extraction company
This company used our telemarketing services to generate sales leads in their traditional market of garages. The consultancy service then worked with the company to develop new market opportunities, redefined their sales organisation and establish a customer and prospect database to enable them to manage their own customer service and lead generation processes.
Lithographic Printer
A long established sheet fed litho printing company needing support to market a new service to a new customer group. The programme included profiling the most promising customer groups, re- organisation and training for the field sales team and the setting up of a single point customer service centre. Outbound telemarketing was tested through our bureau before transferring the function to the company. The marketing action programme also included direct mail, exhibitions and profile raising within their new sector.
Commercial Cleaning Company
A highly practical programme working closely with the owners of the business to develop an operational marketing plan to double the size of the business in one year. Active programmes included direct mail and telemarketing, the development of a brochure and an effective presentation and proposal pack. Improved telephone response to customers and introduced contact management database. Began investigation into feasibility of franchising the business which is ongoing.
Sign Manufacturer
Established company with blue chip customer base manufacturing durable internal and external signage. Profiled existing customer base and identified most promising customer groups. Developed direct marketing programme and generated qualified leads through bureau telemarketing. Recruited marketing assistant to action key elements of marketing action plan. By the end of the programme the company had achieved full year objectives in 3 months.
Engineering Group
An engineering company providing a range of services from fabrication to motor rewinds with on site services for installation and repair of motors and pumps. Recently introduced Dynamic Balancing and condition monitoring as additional on site services. The company a field sales force of four and an internal sales team of three who are mainly concerned with factored sales of pumps and electrical equipment. The objective of the consultancy was to prepare a marketing strategy and operational plan as well as plan the reorganisation and development of the field sales team and internal sales team. Following market investigation and consultation, it was decided to focus on the development of factored sales which involved establishing an inbound and outbound call centre. An essential part of this development was the specification and introduction of an effective contact management system. A catalogue of products was developed and sent directly to customers and prospects as part of the new direct marketing programme. The programme of support is ongoing and through a series of targeted direct mail campaigns, the field sales force is now directed towards profitable, qualified selling opportunities whilst factored sales are managed mainly by an inside sales team at considerably lower cost.
